53rd annual Cal Cup gets underway on the West Coast
Hundreds of field hockey players competing in full field 11s down to Hockey5s will converge at Moorpark College, just under an hour northwest of Los Angeles, this weekend at the 53rd annual California Cup.
It began in 1972 with six men’s teams. The event has grown to over 150 teams featuring men, women, boys, and girls. The range of age is five to over 80.
According to the event’s website, teams travel from across the United States, as well as from around the world from Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Germany, Spain, and Great Britain.
