Tampa stays No. 1; Emporia State and Findlay join AVCA DII women's volleyball rankings, others shift
Tampa women’s volleyball have held onto the No. 1 spot in the American Volleyball Coaches Association from week five to week 10.
The latest ranking — week 10 — was published Monday and they are still positioned in the top spot.
The women’s volleyball polls are rankings determined by a committee of AVCA member coaches, who vote based on the teams' performance throughout the season.
Tampa are shining with a 23-0 record.
Senior middle blocker Jenna Davis is dominating with four blocks during the team’s last match against Eckerd College. Davis also holds the top spot in solo blocks (20) and block assists (63).
The Spartans are gearing up to play against Barry on November 14.
Coming in at No. 2 is Point Loma Nazarene University with a record of 21-2 and an eight-match winning streak.
The standout Sea Lion this week is the senior libero Macy Reynolds. Reynolds took the top spot in digs (15) out of both teams during their last match against Concordia University. Reynolds is also the No. 1 player on the team with the most digs (449) on this season.
The Sea Lions are playing Vanguard University on November 12.
Wayne State sits at No. 3 with a record of 24-3 and an 11-match winning streak.
Junior outside hitter Channatee Robles was topped the leaderboard in kills (13) during their last match against the University of Mary.
The Wildcats will compete again on November 14 against the University of Jamestown.
Barry is No. 4 with a record of 20-3. They are currently on a two-match winning streak.
The Buccaneer that stood out this week is the senior libero and defensive specialist Gaia Riedmüller. Riedmüller swept her opponents in digs (19) during the team's last match against Florida Tech. She is also holding the top spot on the team in digs (262) this season.
Barry and Tampa compete November 14.
Finally, at No. 5 is Nebraska-Kearney with a record of 24-3.
The standout Loper this week is the senior outside hitter Emilee Lane. Lane took the top spot in kills (16) during the team’s last match against Emporia State. She is also holding the second-highest spot on the team in kills (271) this season.
The Lopers are gearing up to play again on November 13 against Northwest Missouri State.
