Dallas Baptist holds No. 1 as challengers stir the Division II women’s soccer cauldron

DII women’s soccer continues to look toward the postseason.

Dallas Baptist still holds the keys to Division II women’s soccer’s haunted house, but challengers are stirring the cauldron ahead of the next coaches poll.

The Oct. 20 Intercollegiate Women’s Soccer Organization for Coaches poll, published with United Soccer Coaches, remains the latest ranking as of Monday, Oct. 26. The next release is expected tomorrow.

In the Oct. 20 ranking, No. 1 Dallas Baptist unleashed six different scorers in a 6-2 win at St. Edward’s before Oklahoma Christian locked the goal shut in Saturday’s scoreless draw.

The Patriots remain unbeaten at 14-0-2 and can claim the Lone Star regular-season title with a win or draw at Midwestern State on Tuesday.

Sitting at No. 2, Florida Tech escaped a late scare against Rollins when Iselin Brualoekken scored at 84:31 for a 2-1 victory. The Panthers are 11-0-5. Minnesota State held No. 3 at 13-1-1 in the latest poll.

Columbus State collected a championship treat before jumping six places to No. 6. The Cougars completed an unbeaten Peach Belt season with a 2-1 win over Georgia College, then shut out No. 12 Catawba 2-0 on Oct. 21.

Missouri-St. Louis vaulted 13 spots to No. 9, then delivered a late thriller Sunday. Ella Anselm scored at 87:39 in a 2-1 win at Missouri S&T. The Tritons finished the regular season 13-1-3 overall and unbeaten in GLVC play at 12-0-2.

Concordia Irvine climbed 11 places to No. 13 after beating Dominican and Jessup, but Point Loma supplied Saturday’s Halloween surprise. The Sea Lions won 2-0, improved to 9-2-5 and moved atop the PacWest standings with one regular-season game remaining.

No. 17 Cedarville’s defense keeps casting a spell. A scoreless draw at Thomas More and a 9-0 win at Ursuline extended its shutout streak to 15. Katie Ulmer scored a hat trick against Ursuline, lifting the Yellow Jackets to 12-1-4.

No. 8 Western Washington made opposing goals disappear in road wins over Seattle Pacific, 2-0, and Montana State Billings, 1-0. Audrey Holdridge scored the winner at Billings. The Vikings are 13-1-3, riding 10 consecutive victories with an 11-0-1 GNAC record.

Tuesday will reveal who earns ranking treats and who is haunted by lost ground. Only coaches vote; the poll reflects weekly standing, not NCAA championship selection or postseason eligibility.
