Duke women’s soccer rank No. 1 in Division I week one poll

The 2025 NCAA Division I women’s college soccer season is officially underway, and after the first week of polling, Duke University leads the rankings.

The Blue Devils moved up three spots from their No. 4 preseason ranking. Directly below them are the Stanford women, who climbed to No. 2 from No. 7, according to the United Soccer Coaches week one poll.

Duke plays Northwestern in Durham tonight at 6 p.m.

Only three teams maintained their positions from the preseason, while others saw significant drops.

Notably, the 2024 NCAA Division I reigning North Carolina champions, initially ranked No. 1 in the preseason poll, are now No. 12 after a 2-0 loss to Tennessee and a 5-0 win against Siena.

Duke defeated Penn State 3-2 on August 14 for the team’s first win of the Fall campaign.
