FIKAGEAR brand brings innovative solutions and extensive expertise to the hockey community: sponsor
The time for American high school and college field hockey programs to shine is now.
These athletes have worked toward improving their skills, forming friendships, and designating leadership with overall goals in mind.
For some, the goals are specific. For others, the action of playing field hockey is simply, in general, just fun.
As the game continues to evolve and rampant changes are occurring in the NCAA field hockey space, there are new ways to play the game and stay in touch with your friends.
The social scene in any sport is as equally as fun as the sweat equity put into competing.
Female Athlete News is thrilled to have partnered with FIKAGEAR, a global leader in sports infrastructure and performance equipment.
The FIKAGEAR brand, in 2025, announced their new collaboration with the International Hockey Federation (FIH) to advance global hockey education and development.
RSI Sports Group, the parent-company behind the FIKAGEAR brand, brings innovative solutions and extensive expertise to the hockey community. FIKAGEAR is known for delivering high-quality, sustainable hockey products that support player development at all levels – from grassroots to high performance.
As part of its ongoing global expansion, RSI (FIKA) has intensified its collaboration with both the FIA Academy and the International Hockey Federation (FIH), further strengthening its role in international sports development.
In a significant step forward, RSI has also established a new strategic partnership with USA Field Hockey, complementing its existing partnership with the Chilean Hockey Federation.
These developments reflect RSI’s continued commitment to growing the sport on a global scale and fostering elite development opportunities across all levels of play.
Together, FIH and RSI Sports Group aim to expand access to quality learning opportunities and create environments that foster the next generation of the global hockey family.
“We are delighted to welcome RSI Sports Group and Fikagear as our FIH Academy Partner,” FIH President Tayyab Ikram said. “Their passion for innovation and commitment to excellence align perfectly with our values.

“This partnership will help us empower our National Association members, equipping them with the tools and knowledge to grow hockey in their communities.”
Arnoud Fiolet, Managing Partner of RSI Sports Group, added: “We are proud to partner with the FIH Academy to support the global growth of hockey through education and innovation. With FIKAGEAR, our mission is to empower athletes and coaches with smart, sustainable ( Hockey5’s) solutions that enhance learning and performance. This partnership is a natural fit, and we’re excited to contribute to the development of hockey communities worldwide.”
Hockey5s is an official new form of field hockey introduced by the FIH to make field hockey bigger and more popular.
Comparable to Rugby Sevens and Padel Tennis, Hockey5s is the “smaller” and faster version.
An incredibly fun game, intense because the ball hardly ever goes out of bounds, with lots of duels and goal finishes.
The official pitch measures 40 x 23.76 m and is completely surrounded by boards. The goals (width 3.76m) are placed in the middle of each end. A single board measures 2m and is approx. 25cm high.
Hockey5s is an attractive new format that appeals to both recreational players and top athletes and provides new incentives.
