No. 10 USWNT to play No. 12 New Zealand in first game of Phase 2 of FIH World Cup

The United States women’s field hockey team is set for another matchup against a familiar opponent.
The No. 10 United Eagles will face No. 12 New Zealand in their first crossover game as they continue competing for a ninth- through 16th-place finish.
The game is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 22, at 8:30 a.m. EST.
The last time the two sides met was at the FIH Nations Cup in June, where they played to a 1-1 draw before the match went to a shootout.
Host nation New Zealand outlasted the United States 4-1 in the shootout and went on to claim silver, while the USA finished with bronze.
