USWNT to play Ireland in second game of Stage 2 in 2026 FIH World Cup

The U.S. women’s field hockey team has another key placement matchup, taking on Ireland on Monday, Aug. 24 at Belfius Hockey Arena at 8 a.m. EST. 

The game will be streamed live on Watch.Hockey. 

The matchup brings together two closely ranked sides, with the United States at No. 10 and Ireland at No. 12 in the latest FIH Outdoor Women’s Rankings. 

Both teams enter Pool H with 3 points, making the outcome crucial for either team as they continue the push toward the ninth- through 16th-place classification game on Thursday, Aug. 27. 

The United States and Ireland have most recently competed in a friendly series in Charlotte, North Carolina in June 2025, which the Americans won. Earlier that year, Ireland came out on top at the 2025 FIH Nations Cup.
