Spellbound fans, DI college coaches place Nebraska above all other women’s volleyball programs: AVCA

Marina Pezelj (Pitt), Bergen Reilly (Nabraska), and Abby Vander Wal (Texas) have contributed to their respective team’s overall success this season.

For the ninth consecutive week, the University of Nebraska remains undefeated and holds the No. 1 spot in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll.

The women’s volleyball polls are rankings determined by a committee of AVCA member coaches, who vote based on the teams' performance throughout the season.

Junior setter Bergen Reilly was a standout, leading the team with 8 digs in their recent match against Michigan. Reilly also ranks second in season digs with 151, closely following teammate Olivia Mauch.

The Cornhuskers are scheduled to play a Big Ten matchup against Northwestern University on October 24.

Also maintaining their undefeated streak with 16 matches, Texas is ranked No. 2.

Freshman outside hitter Abby Vander Wal has been a notable performer, securing the top two spots in kills in the last two matches and holding the third-highest number of kills this season.

The Longhorns will compete against Ole Miss on October 24.

At No. 3, the University of Kentucky boasts a 14-2 record and an 11-match winning streak.

Senior outside hitter Eva Hudson distinguished herself this week, leading in kills during the team's last two matches and consistently maintaining this position throughout the season.

The Kentucky Wildcats will face Mississippi State on October 24.

Pitt is positioned at No. 4 with a 15-3 record and a 3-match winning streak.

Freshman outside hitter Marina Pezelj was a standout Panther, achieving 17 digs in the match against Notre Dame, where she also recorded most of her season highs.

The Panthers are set to play North Carolina State on October 24.

Finally, Stanford University is ranked No. 5, holding a 16-3 record and a four-match winning streak.

Senior outside hitter Elia Rubin has consistently claimed the top two spots for kills in the past two weeks and leads the team with 212 kills this season.

Stanford University will play against Clemson University on October 24.
