The United States Women's Senior Field Hockey team had a successful weekend, securing two shutout wins against New Zealand.

They won both matches 3-0.

These FIH-sanctioned test matches, part of the Cathy Bessant International Series, are crucial for all participating teams, including Ireland in June.

They are preparation for upcoming tournaments, where teams can qualify for the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup. The World Cup will feature the top 16 teams.

The tournament is being held in Belgium and the Netherlands in August 2026.

Beth Yeager scored twice for the States in two similar set penalty corner plays, both from her powerful flick from the top of the circle. She added goals one and three to the scoresheet.

Phia Gladieux also contributed, getting a final touch on a ball sent into the circle by Meredith Sholder. Gladieux’s goal was goal number two for the States.
