2025 NCAA Division I women’s field hockey tourney: First round details

The quest for the 2025 NCAA Division women’s field hockey title continues today.

Fairfield edged Boston University 1-0 in the Opening Round of the 2025 NCAA Division I women’s field hockey tournament.

In today’s First Round, the Stags will face Princeton, the Ivy League Champions. It will be the fourth time this season No. 20 Fairfield will compete against a top-20 ranked opponent.

St. Joe’s won it’s contest in the opening round against Drexel and will compete against familiar foe North Carolina.

The Hawks defeated the Tar Heels in the 2024 Final Four, so expect the Tar Heels to be more than prepared to avenge St. Joe’s.
