USA Field Hockey announces traveling roster for Pan American Cup

Head Coach David Passmore has announced the 20-athlete traveling squad for the 2025 Pan American Cup (PAC) in Montevideo, Uruguay.

The tournament runs from July 24 to August 3. The winner of the tournament will qualify for the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup, according to USA Field Hockey.

Passmore mentioned that the team has really developed over the past six weeks, and he's confident in their ability to perform well. The squad will be narrowed down to 18 athletes just before the competition begins.

USA Field Hockey held two international test-series, one in June and one in July, called the Cathy Bessant International Series. The States tied one and won one game against Ireland. And, shutout New Zealand 3-0 in two games earlier in July.

The No. 14 Eagles are in Pool B, competing against No. 12 Chile, No. 29 Mexico, and No. 51 Trinidad and Tobago. Pool A includes No. 2 Argentina, No. 19 Canada, No. 22 Uruguay, and No. 53 Paraguay.

The United Eagles will begin the PAC competition against Mexico.

The teams placing second through fifth will advance to an FIH Hockey World Cup Qualifier in March 2026.
