Warwick has seen this movie before. And, they would like to rewrite the ending.
Palmyra, the reigning champions, will meet the Warriors again in Saturday’s District 3 Class 2A field hockey championship, scheduled for November 7 at 1 p.m. at Soldiers and Sailors Stadium in Mechanicsburg.
For Warwick, the matchup offers more than another afternoon chasing gold: it’s a chance to turn last November’s double disappointment into a different finish.
The Cougars spoiled two championship days for the Warriors in 2025.
First came a 5–0 defeat in the November 1 district final. Then came a much tighter — but still painful — 3–2 loss in the November 15 PIAA Class AA state championship.
Warwick found its footing in the rematch, only to watch Palmyra leave with another medal.
That second game showed how much the Warriors could change the conversation.
Adelyn “Addie” Martin and Elena Care scored for Warwick, while Palmyra’s Madelynn Witt supplied two goals, including the winner with 4:18 remaining. Close enough to make the opportunity real; not the ending Warwick wanted.
This year’s Warriors bring fresh momentum.
Kayla Gockley and Taylor Hess scored in the 2–0 semifinal win over Red Land. Hess leads Warwick’s published statistics with 24 goals, Martin has 13 assists, and goalkeeper Bella George has eight shutouts.
There’s scoring punch, a playmaker and a keeper capable of keeping the door closed.
Palmyra, meanwhile, isn’t showing up to help write a redemption story. The Cougars are the defending district and state champions.
Warwick’s challenge is to make this meeting look less like last year’s district final—and finish the job it nearly managed in the state rematch.
Across the two completed seasons, 2024 and 2025, they met four times, splitting the wins 2–2.
Saturday is their first listed meeting of 2026 and fifth across those three seasons.
If “past two years” means the rolling period since November 6, 2024, the count is three completed meetings; the October 2024 game falls just outside that window.
· October 30, 2024: Warwick 3, Palmyra 1.
